When you load up on chicken stock and broth you’ll always have help for those “I don’t wanna cook” days.
Chicken stocks and broths are the 9-1-1 of dinner emergencies. With just a few additional ingredients and spices you can pretty much make every stovetop chicken soup ever made. They’re also the secret-ingredient in some of the best chicken dinner recipes. (Full disclosure: we use Progresso stocks and broths in our kitchens.)
BROTHS VS. STOCKS
In general, the difference between broths and stocks is how they’re prepared. Chicken stock is made using the bones and scraps of a chicken, while the broth uses the whole chicken (bones and all). Stocks also tend to be a little heavier, so they’re better for dinner recipes or thickening up gravy. But the bottom line is that you really can’t go wrong with having a couple boxes of both. They’ll always come in handy.
MONEY-SAVING HACK ALERT!
One bummer that you’ll probably run into when using a stock or broth is that there’s always leftover liquid. If you’re like me, you put it in the fridge with every intention to use it later, only to find yourself dumping your good intention and the broth down the drain days later. Here’s an awesome hack to help save us all from kitchen sink shame.
