Drain the juice from a jar of maraschino cherries, pour in a 1/2-cup of your favorite vanilla flavored vodka, and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
Drain the cherries (but save the vodka—it works great in a cocktail) and pat the cherries dry with paper towels.
Microwave candy coating until melted and smooth, then dip the bottom of each cherry into the coating. Dip in some green sugar, place on a cookie sheet until the coating firms up, and you’ve got a holiday treat with a boozy surprise.

In one bowl stir 1/4 teaspoon of green paste food color until blended for the dark green layer. Spread in the pan and freeze for 5 minutes. In the second bowl add 1 drop of green food color and continue to add an additional 1 to 2 drops and blend until the desired lighter green color is achieved. Spread the light green layer over the now set dark green layer, and place in the freezer for another 5 minutes. Finally, spread the white layer on top of the other set layers and refrigerate about 2 hours until firm.

Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper. Spray the insides of the cookie cutters with cooking spray and place 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Arrange 4 to 8 Jolly Ranchers in each cookie cutter.
Bake 4 to 6 minutes until the candies have melted and cool 3 minutes. Use a toothpick sprayed with cooking spray to make a hole in the top of each ornament. Let the ornament cool completely in the cookie cutter about 20 minutes or until it’s hardened. Carefully remove the ornament from the cookie cutter and break off any excess candy from the edges.
Slip a fancy ribbon through the hole and adorn the tree with your pretty handmade ornaments.
