Go shorty, eats your birthday (pizza cake). See what we did there? This cake is even more genius than that lyric rewrite.

If you’re like us, Totino’s Party Pizzas hold a special place in your heart (and stomach). Childhood birthday parties weren’t complete without enjoying a few slices of ‘za before the cake was cut. We thought those cheesy pizza masterpieces couldn’t be any more perfect, and, boy, were we wrong. Like a birthday gift unto itself, we discovered the new square-shaped pizzas fit perfectly into a 9x9” baking dish. Team Tablespoon is never one to let a cheesy opportunity pass us by, so we did some experimenting.

To begin, we placed the first Party Pizza in the bottom of a greased 9x9” dish. Then, we topped it with layers of pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, Italian sausage, Muir Glen pizza sauce, and shredded mozz. Once we finished adding all the good stuff, we topped it with a second party pizza, added more shredded mozzarella and then baked it all for 20 minutes at 450°F, until the cheese on top is brown and bubbling.

The result: an awesome birthday pizza lasagna stacked high with 162 cubic inches—to be exact— of cheesy goodness. Because the only thing better than pizza and cake on your birthday is pizza AS cake on your birthday.

Make a wish!
