Bites and Pieces - Rock UR Party

tbspAngela By

Let's be honest, to really rock a party you need to serve up something delish that will blow the minds of your guests. While a great cocktail can stir up excitement, an amazing dessert always has the best potential for a cerebrum blast.

Trust me, I do not look down my nose at the ease and convenience of regular ice cream, but when I saw these three frozen citrus delights from our food friends on the web, ordinary went right out the door. Plus, I'm always up for a challenge. So, if you're a borderline party over-achiever, such as myself, consider giving these three recipes a whirl!

1. Grapefruit Campari Sorbet from David Lebovitz

The great thing about serving a sorbet is how light and refreshing it is, especially after a really big meal. I personally love the taste of grapefruit, and I imagine that pairing it with Campari is a tastebud and flavor romance. Though you may need to be a little adventurous here, this recipe offers a truly unique palate experience worth trying!

2. Poached Peaches and Lemon Verbana Ice Cream from Tartelette

Last year I received a Lemon Verbana plant for my birthday. At first, I thought 'what the heck am I going to do with this?' Now, after putting its amazing smelling leaves into almost anything that's digestible, all I can think is 'what would I do without this!' This recipe gives me another reason to love it more. You almost feel guilty thinking about devouring this dessert that looks more like a work of art. Keyword, "almost."

3. Meyer Lemon Semifreddo from A Dinner Party

According to Wikipedia (yes, I had to look it up) a Semifreddo "has the texture of frozen mousse because it is usually produced by uniting two equal parts of ice cream and whipped cream." Aside from the fact that the combination of lemon and blackberry is to die for, the best part of this recipe is that you don't need an ice cream maker to make it!

Be sure to check back next week to see what new finds we were able to score!
