Here's a sweet treat the kids will definitely gobble-gobble up!
It’s almost turkey time again! These easy turkey cupcakes are a great way to sweetly celebrate the season—and they are the perfect treats to get the little ones involved in the kitchen fun.
The ingredients are simple. For each cupcake you’ll need:
- 1 plain chocolate cupcake & chocolate frosting
- 1 Double Stuff Oreo cookie
- 6 candy corns
- 1 large malt ball
Construction is the fun part!
Frost each cupcake with your favorite chocolate frosting. Kids can help with this, as the frosting doesn’t have to be perfectly smooth.
Construct the tail feathers by shoving 5 candy corns, tip down, into the top of the Oreo. (A great job for little hands!)
Place the malt ball on the front of the cupcake and the tail feather Oreo onto the back. Add a candy corn beak to the malt ball, and secure it with a dab of your frosting. Eyes are optional. (The cupcakes still look quite turkey-like without eyes.) I used dabs of white frosting.
These little turkeys will look great perched on your Thanksgiving dessert plates. Don’t want to wait for the big holiday? Invite all the kids for a November play date, and make cupcake decorating your activity. Just be sure no one gobbles up the ingredients before you are finished! Enjoy!
