Introducing the NEW Betty Crocker "Big Red" Cookbook!

Raise your hand if you have a Betty Crocker "Big Red" Cookbook -- any edition, from any year ...

Ooo! Ooo! Ooo! My hand is WAY up! In fact, I'm so not a collector, but I have me a little BC cookbook collection going on over here, and I'll bet I'm not the only one.

Mine started with this retro version of Big Red that my mom had (probably her mom's), publication date 1950:

Betty Crocker Cookbook Classic Version

I'm thinking poodle skirts and drive-ins with roller-skated waitresses. Classic!

Check out these illustrations from the vintage 1950 cookbook:

Fast-forward through lots more versions plus specialty Betty Crocker cookbooks since then -- and here's the newest member of the family, released just in time for fall cooking and baking, Thanksgiving and holiday gift-giving:

New Betty Crocker Cookbook

Bee-u-tee-ful. Simple as that! But wait'll ya see what's inside...

Cool New Stuff

So, what stripes make the new cat different?

1. Nearly 1,100 all-new full color photos! Whoa! 350 step-by-step pics show you how to do stuff like carve a turkey and make cheesecake. Awesome!

2. A boat load (1,500!) of recipes (whaaat?!) with icons to tell you if they're fast, lower cal, and more. Helpful! There's even an icon to mark recipes contributed by BettyCrocker.com members.

3. New features like Learn to Make recipes -- kinda like your own personal cooking school. You'll learn stuff everybody should know how to make, like apple pie, mac 'n cheese, roast turkey and more. Nom!

4. New chapters on Entertaining, Do-It-Yourself and Breakfast and Brunch.

5. Exclusive access to online content with bonus videos showing you how to make 40 of the recipes in the book! Best idea ever!

Cooler Still

And here's one of the awesomest things of all: This book has a brand-spankin' new feature called Heirloom Recipe and New Twist, where -- you guessed it -- they took classics that have been loved forever and ever (like Creamy Potato Salad) and created a new version 'specially for today's cooks. Way fun!
