Sick of your everyday pulled pork or chicken sandwich? Try these awesome Chilean lomito sandwiches to switch things up.


There's nothing quite like a great sandwich: soft bread, juicy meat and condiments that add the perfect mix of spice, creaminess, acidity and texture. One sammy that really hits the mark is the Chilean lomito – otherwise known as goodness on a bun.

Begin by roasting a pork tenderloin – hey, we didn't say this would be easy – in a 300-degree oven with salt, pepper, olive oil and garlic for about two hours. Once it's out of the oven and cooled, shred your meat, then turn your attention to the other fixings.

In no particular order, you'll need to smash an avocado with a bit of lemon, slice a tomato, warm some sauerkraut and heat up your buns in the oven. Then, it's a simple matter of making your lomito however you like. For a party, you could even set up your ingredients buffet-style so your guests can make 'em their way.
