During the colder months of the year and especially during the holiday season, everyone needs to know how to make a caramel fondue.

Caramel is the perfect easy dessert that everyone loves—and it just screams fall! Think caramel dipped apples, brownies, pretzels… pretty much any sweet thing you can imagine.

No one can deny a really good caramel, so today I’m going to show you just how easy making it can be. So start planning your next party and make sure it includes a caramel fondue!

Okay, first things first. You’ll need one (14 ounce) bag of caramel bits, 1/3 cup heavy cream and good pinch of flaky sea salt. I have found this ratio of caramels to cream is perfect for a smooth and dippable fondue. If you want to double this recipe, it will work equally well!

To make in the microwave:

Add the caramel bits and the cream to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes. Stir until smooth. If needed, return to the microwave another 1-2 minutes until completely smooth and melted. Stir in the salt.

To make in a mini slow-cooker:

Add the caramel bits, heavy cream and salt to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on High for 1 hour, stirring after 30 minutes. Once the caramel is melted and smooth, you’re ready for dipping!

To make on the stove:

Add the caramel bits, heavy cream and salt to small saucepot set over medium-low heat. Cook until melted and smooth, stirring often. Once the caramel is melted and smooth, keep over low heat or transfer to a heatproof bowl. Dip your desired treats into the caramel!

My Favorite DIPPERS:

  • Brownies
  • Cookies
  • Pretzels
  • Crackers
  • Mini donuts
  • Rice crisp treats
  • Biscotti
  • Chocolate sandwich cookies
  • Beignets
  • Apples (of course!)

And it’s as simple as that. Three ingredients and all your favorite foods for dipping! Anyone can make this caramel fondue, and it’s PERFECT for all the upcoming holiday entertaining.
