How to Marinade on the Grill

There is nothing quite as blissful as a deliciously marinated meal of meat or veggies prepared on a piping hot grill. Nothing. The way the flavor permeates the meat is splendid and the grill seems to seal it all in.

But then again, I love pretty much anything from a grill so maybe I am a little bit biased.

In any case, when it comes to grill marinades (or any marinade for that matter), they have a bit of science to them: a little acid to tenderize the meat, some herbs or spices for flavor and a bit of a healthy fat to make it all work.

So, what is marinating exactly? It's soaking a protein or veggie in a liquid for a period of time, so that it tenderizes and absorbs the liquid. When the marinating period is over, then you discard the liquid and cook the food. Easy peasy.

 

Now, what's this chicken marinade? Lemon, Rosemary, Garlic Marinade is a delicious combination of a lemon (zest and juice!), rosemary, paprika, garlic, salt, pepper and oil. The flavor is tangy, but robust, giving the chicken a surprising but delicious taste. My family adores it. It's also great for marinating green beans or pole beans for grilling as well.

 

And, it's easy as can be: You marinate the chicken (shown: chicken tenders) for between 30 minutes and an hour, and then you cook it to perfection.

Really, it couldn't be easier to make or use. Seriously. Even if you have a limited amount of time for dinner preparation, you probably can find a few minutes to whip up a marinade and use it.
