Today’s Valentine’s Day. Before your love realizes that you haven’t prepared, here are some fast, fun ways to celebrate – with only last minute attention required.
Make a Special Valentine’s Drink
Anyone can open a bottle of wine, and that can be special. But how about a fabulous cocktail instead? A Cinnamon Caramel Apple Martini
or a Chocolate Indulgence Martini
would be awesome.
Toss Together a Few Fabulous Appetizers
Appetizers are a must when you are having a special dinner, and it makes them more special when you whip them up yourself. Something like Bruschetta with Gorgonzola and Honey
(I’ve had it! DELISH!) or a traditional Bruschetta
is a great way to start. Or how about some fabulous Caramelized Chili Shrimp
Order In From Your Favorite Place
We don’t eat out a lot anymore – mostly because when the budget tightened years ago, I started cooking more and fell in love with cooking. But when we celebrate as a couple, I hate having to cook. Sometimes it’s nice to have someone else do the stirring, roasting and plating. So, ordering in can be a tremendous treat.

But more importantly, it allows you a special intimacy in your home. Put out a fresh tablecloth and set the table for two. Then, light some candles and serve your favorite restaurant meals … on your best plates, of course.
Whip Up Something Chocolaty
Now for dessert. Yes, you could get takeout for that too … but making a dessert makes it seem like you were prepared. And some fabulous ones only take minutes to whip up. Here are a few deliciously easy ideas:
Now, what are you waiting for? Hit the grocery store for supplies and some flowers for the table, and prepare a speedy, last-minute feast for your love!
