Smoothie Bowls: 3 Legit Reasons Not to Skip Breakfast

Hit the snooze button one less time and give these smoothie bowls a try. You won’t be sorry.

Let’s face it, breakfast is rarely a priority. Some days (okay, every day), just getting out of the door with matching shoes feels like a win. BUT! We’ve got three stupidly simple smoothie bowls packed to the brim with all the good stuff that will get your day started on the right foot (with said matching shoe).

Did we mention they’re ready in less than five minutes? Starting with a container of Yoplait Original yogurt and some frozen fruit, these bowls practically make themselves. Here’s how to do it.

Tropics-Inspired Fruit Smoothie Bowl

This protein-packed breakfast is the workweek equivalent to a Tahitian breeze blowing across your sun-kissed face (we might be exaggerating, but not by much).

Starting with a 6-oz container of Yoplait Original Lemon Burst yogurt, add half a frozen banana and 3/4 cup frozen strawberries, then blend for about 1 minute, or until smooth. Once blended, pour into a bowl and top it with all the good stuff. We went with sliced banana, fresh pineapple chunks, toasted coconut, pomegranate seeds, and cashews for extra protein.

Triple Berry Smoothie Bowl

Who doesn’t love a good berry smoothie? We love them so much we made this next-level berry smoothie bowl.

In the blender, add a 6-oz Yoplait Original Mixed Berry yogurt, 3/4 cup frozen strawberries and 1/2 of a frozen banana. Blend that baby until smooth—about a minute depending on your blender. Add to a bowl and top with all the berries you can find in your fridge. We added sliced strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. For a little crunch, we added toasted almonds to round out our bowl.

Chia Smoothie Bowl

Chia seeds pack a major nutritional punch. They’re filled with fiber and Omega-3 fatty acids—not to mention, they make a great addition to a smoothie bowl.

To make, use a 6-oz container of Yoplait Original Mountain Blueberry yogurt, 1/2 avocado, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries and 1/2 of a frozen banana. Blend until smooth, and then add to your bowl. We topped ours off with blueberries, lots of chia seeds, raspberries and sliced banana. This bowl is seriously satisfying and a great way to kick-start your day.

Final tip: If your smoothie needs more liquid, add water or juice by the tablespoon until you’ve reached your desired consistency.

Happy blending!
