Over the weekend, I was chatting with my cousin's neighbor and she mentioned a simple snack mix that she likes to mix up and take to the local movie theater. It's bits of chocolate with a few kinds of cereal, maybe some pretzels - just whatever she has on hand at the time. And according to her, it makes her a huge draw for kids all over. "They surround me," she laughed.

Honestly, if she'd brought a snack mix with sweet, salty and chocolate-y to share, I would have dove for it too. That combination of flavors excites me. Seriously. And yes, I am an adult woman.



There are several ways to make your own snack mix. You could take this woman's route and just mix-up whatever you have in the cupboard and call it a day. And you know what? That could be really good. Heck, it could be downright perfect for munching on a car trip or while hiking.

But, if you have a little bit of time, then there is another delectable way of making snack mix. Like the first one, you mix up some pantry items in a big bowl ... but then you take it to a whole new level by drizzling it with butter or oil and mixing in some seasonings. Then, you bake it. Once it's cooled a bit, you can gobble, munch and enjoy to your heart's content.

Does that not sound a-mazing? Seriously?

So, now just the question remains: will you toss and go or bake it?
