Hanukkah, or the Festival of Lights, has a great food tradition, and is a great excuse to eat lots of fried foods for eight days! Traditionally, oil and dairy play a big part in Hanukkah food.  To celebrate the Festival of Lights, we have highlighted four traditional and yummy Hanukkah recipes.

  • Potato Latkes. This is basically a potato pancake fried in plenty of oil until crisp. Amp it up with a dollop of sour cream. You will love the contrast of the cool crunchy exterior of the potato.

  • Potato Kugel Puffs. A classic. This traditional Old-World dish can be made in a large baking dish and topped with cheese.  Holiday comfort food at its best.

  • Doughnuts. For those who need an excuse to eat doughnuts.

  • Hanukkah Rugelach.  If these soft cookies made with a yummy cream cheese dough aren’t part of your Hanukkah tradition, they will be after trying just one.

What are your Hanukkah traditions? We would love to hear you!
