It is cookie exchange season, and before you get overwhelmed by the hundreds of cookie recipes you are thinking of baking and sharing, let’s break it down into smaller bites. I find there are generally three categories of cookies out there—Crispy, Chewy, and Soft. All the examples below are all delicious, and will to appeal to friends and family alike, so get your oven mitts ready!
- Crispy. These tend to have less liquid but more fat and sugar. This recipe for Starlight Sugar Cookies is a perfect example
- Chewy. The opposite of crispy, these cookies have more liquid and sugar, but are lower in fat. They tend to have more eggs. If you like chewy cookies, you will want to try our Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe.
- Soft. Often higher in liquid and lower in sugar and fat, our recipe for Iced Molasses Cookies is always a crowd pleaser. You may need to double the batch.
