Grease 2 - 8 inch layer pans, or one large cake pan. Combine salad dressing and sugar, stirring until smooth. Add vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to salad dressing mixture alternately with water, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. I don't have a recipe for mayonaise cake but anytime I am making chocolate cake from box mixes, I take a large tablespoon and get a big glob of mayonaise when I have mixed all the other ingredients and blend well...it's make the cakes sooooo delicious. I haven't tried it on other cakes but it sure makes the chocolate singe.
