Dip crackers in candy coating to have these angel shaped bites ready for dessert.

Ingredients

6
oz. vanilla-flavored candy coating or almond bark, chopped
12
butterfly-shaped crackers
12
triangular whole wheat crackers
12
bite-sized round butter crackers
Colored sugar

Directions

  • 1 Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. Place candy coating in 2-cup microwave-safe measuring cup. Microwave on MEDIUM for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring once halfway through melting time. Stir until melted and smooth.
  • 2 To form each angel shape, dip 1 butterfly-shaped cracker in candy coating; allow excess to drip off. Place on paper-lined cookie sheet, wide end up, to form wings. Dip 1 triangular cracker in candy coating; allow excess to drip off. Attach to center of butterfly cracker, pointed side up to form skirt.
  • 3 Dip 1 round cracker in candy coating; allow excess to drip off. Attach to butterfly cracker at top of point of triangular cracker to form head. Immediately sprinkle with colored sugar. Let crackers stand at room temperature for 15 minutes or until coating is set.
Tips

The thickness and consistency of melted candy coating varies among brands. If the coating is too thick for dipping, add 1 teaspoon of shortening and rewarm it for 10 seconds in the microwave. Stir and repeat if necessary.

Cut the candy coating into very small pieces; they will melt quickly without over-cooking.

A variety of angels is attractive; sprinkle them with different colors of sugar or mix the colors.
