The quick addition of crisp apple and licorice-like fennel gives a fresh new taste to this recipe, which is easy to make with Betty Crocker™ Homestyle Stuffing turkey flavored mix.

Ingredients

1/4
cup butter
1
cup chopped apple
1
cup chopped fennel bulb
1
box (6 oz) Betty Crocker™ Homestyle Stuffing turkey flavored mix
1 1/2
cups water or turkey stock
2
teaspoons poultry seasoning
1
tablespoon chopped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 8-inch square (2-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • 2 In small skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Cook apple and fennel in butter, stirring occasionally, until crisp-tender.
  • 3 In large bowl, toss apple mixture, stuffing mix, water and poultry seasoning until combined. Spoon into baking dish.
  • 4 Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until golden brown and thoroughly heated. Sprinkle with parsley.
Tips

Celery can be used in place of the fennel.

This recipe can easily be doubled; bake in a 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish.
