Crisp apples and mellow whiskey are a natural flavor combination, and this recipe, with its gooey, boozy caramel sauce, is just about irresistible.
Short on time? Add 3 tablespoons honey-flavored whiskey and 2 tablespoons orange juice (or desired amounts) to a purchased jar of caramel topping and stir until combined.
The caramel sauce can also be made ahead and refrigerated until ready to serve.
Use your favorite variety of apple, or a combination of apples, in this crisp.
For an alcohol-free version, leave out the whiskey in both the crisp and sauce.
