i was out of green onions, chopped red onion fine, red pepper, a small amount if chili pepper, tossed it with egg and cheddar, and some grated Parmesan! I seasoned, and once again grated some Parmesan but If I would have had gruyere!!! it's just adding on to a yay dish. I bet ham would also work in place of bacon! I did zap the veggies a little in microwave in a tsp of bacon fat from cooked bacon.

I used 2 cans of crescent rolls(unrolled, cut into inch strips, like tiny smushed cinnamon rolls), 6 eggs, a 1/4 of milk, a half package of thick cut bacon(prefried, cut into half inch pieces. Then a generous amount of shredded cheese. Mixed together and baked for about 45 minutes. Turned out great, although I forgot to season the egg mixture.

Hi! You don’t need to stuff the mixture into the biscuits; the meat can be folded right into the biscuit and egg mixture in Step 2. Let us know how this awesome recipe turns out for you! :)

I didn't think that 1 egg sounded right and after reading that others put in more eggs I decided to add more of everything except the biscuits. I have made this quit a few times now. I use 10 eggs, about 1/2 cup milk, double the bacon and add extra cheese. I cook it about 45 mins, because of the extra eggs. My husband loves it and I will say this is really yummy!

I used 8 eggs, 10 tbsp of fat free milk, grated cheddar cheese, and I didn't have bacon, so I used hot sausage and cooked it like ground hamburger, drained. I did have to increase the cooking time at least 45-50 minutes on 350 degrees. One egg just wasn't cutting it in my household. It tasted really good, almost like a sausage biscuit. I would highly recommend this recipe, but just add more eggs and increase cooking time.

For the Australian (if you're still checking in) biscuits in the USA are similar to Australian scones. Here are the ingredients to make them yourself. 2 cups SR flour 1/4 cup shortening (butter, marge etc.) 3/4 cups milk. Knead and cut out just like a scone.

"Fold" means to scoop your spatula or spoon across the bottom and gently bring the mixture up and over, in essence, "folding" it. Add the instructed ingredients then repeat that action until combined. YouTube has several videos that will show you what it means, too.

for the individual in Australia, you can make biscuits from scratch, that should work sufficiently. Otherwise I would just look for a "pre-made" version of any brand variety available in your grocery stores if products of this nature are manufactured there.

EmmaRP, there's nothing missing, this is a pull-apart BREAD recipe. similar to Monkey Bread, which uses melted butter instead of milk/egg, and cinnamon, nuts, and/or raisins instead of bacon and onion. Auchickie: yes, you can make the night before, just cook a little longer. Note: I like to add a sprinkle of garlic powder to the egg/milk for a little extra flavor, and sometimes top the pan with shredded cheese when it's almost done, then pop it back in the oven so the cheese melts as it finishes baking. Yummm!!

so amazingly good! I didn't try making the day before, but did add an extra egg. these were beyond yummy! also, I didn't use precooked bacon, just cooked bacon and crumbled it in.

two questions: do we think it's possible to make this the day before and leave in the fridge until ready to cook (or take out and get room temperature before cooking)? I agree with other posters, i would like to either serve this with eggs or add several more eggs to the recipe. Do we think (or has anyone tried it) adding more eggs would add a "scrambled egg" element to the pull aparts? Or just end up a royal mess? thanks- looks so yummy!

Ha ha!! @ where does the 'egg' come in?? Read the directions silly.. In large bowl, beat egg and milk with wire whisk until smooth.. Gently stir biscuit pieces into egg mixture to coat evenly..

I'm thinking I might serve this with scrambled eggs - sounds good, but seems like it's missing something...like a side dish, that's a lot of biscuit and not much else.

since I live alone, I halfed the recipe but used 2 eggs. It was delicious! I topped mine with syrup. I looking forward to trying variations of this recipe using sausage and country gravy. It also re-heats very well.

Has anyone made the whole recipe and frozen some of them. We love these but even cutting in half that's still more than we'll eat.

"Every bite of this pull-apart is filled with the breakfast flavors of bacon, egg and Cheddar cheese" Looks great - will save this recipe, but where does the 'egg' come in?
