Ingredients

  • 2/3  cup sugar
  • 1/4  cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 1  egg
  • 3/4  cup mashed very ripe bananas
  • 1/2  teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4  cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/4  cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour or Better for Bread™ bread flour
  • 1/2  teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2  teaspoon salt
  • 1/2  teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2  cup chopped nuts, if desired

Directions

  1. Grease bread machine pan and kneading blade generously with shortening.

  2. Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

  3. Select Quick Bread cycle. Do not use Delay cycle. After 3 minutes into cycle, open lid and carefully scrape down sides of pan. Close lid to continue with cycle.

  4. Cool baked bread 10 minutes. Remove from pan to wire rack, or follow manufacturer's recommendation.
