Make this tasty BBQ bread topped with pork and cheese mixture – perfect recipe for tailgating or picnic.

Ingredients

1
loaf (12 oz) French bread, cut in half horizontally
1/4
cup butter or margarine, softened
4
cloves garlic, finely chopped
1
lb shredded smoked pork
1
cup barbecue sauce
3
cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (12 oz)
1/2
cup mayonnaise
1/2
cup chopped green onions (8 medium)

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 450°F. Place bread halves, cut sides up, on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 2 In small bowl, mix butter and garlic. Spread mixture over cut sides of bread. In medium bowl, mix pork and barbecue sauce. Spoon pork evenly over bread. In large bowl, mix cheese, mayonnaise and 1/4 cup of the onions. Spoon dollops of cheese mixture over pork.
  • 3 Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup onions. Cut each bread half into 10 pieces. Serve warm.
Tips

This cheesy loaf makes great tailgate or picnic food. Once it’s baked, just wrap loosely in foil to keep warm.
