For a non-alcholic take on classic Bloody Marys, use this easy recipe packed with fresh basil.

Ingredients

cups low-sodium tomato juice
1
cup packed fresh basil leaves
1/2
cup fresh lemon juice
1/4
cup Worcestershire sauce
1
tablespoon red pepper sauce
1/2
to 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/4
teaspoon celery seed
Ice cubes or crushed ice
Celery ribs with leaves, if desired
Additional fresh basil leaves, if desired

Directions

  • 1 In blender or food processor, place 1 cup of the tomato juice and 1 cup basil. Cover; process with on-and-off pulses until smooth. Add lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, pepper sauce, pepper and celery seed. Add remaining tomato juice as needed to fill blender. Cover; process with on-and-off pulses until blended. Pour mixture into pitcher; stir in any remaining tomato juice.
  • 2 Fill glasses half full with ice. Garnish with celery and additional basil.
