Tips & Techniques

  • Pump up Potassium

Potassium can blunt the effects of salt on blood pressure. Good sources of potassium include bananas, raisins, tomato sauce and winter squash.

Ingredients

  • 1  cup water
  • 2  tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 3  cups bread flour
  • 3  tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2  teaspoons salt
  • 1  teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 1/2  teaspoons bread machine yeast
  • 3/4  cup raisins

Directions

  1. 1Measure carefully, placing all ingredients except raisins in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Add raisins at the Raisin/Nut signal or 5 to 10 minutes before last kneading cycle ends.
  2. 2Select Sweet or Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color. Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack.

Surely you can, the only thing is you have to knead for 10 mins at least !! Chef Wan taught us MUST check if the yeast is active before you add to your flour so that the effect is not wasted !! Always add the dry or wet yeast in warm water with some sugar ( 1 Tbsp only ), not all the sugar stated in the recipe, as it is the food for the yeast to grow !! After 10 mins if you see bubbles covers the top, it means the yeast is activated and you can pour it into you flour and start making your bread !! Happy Baking !
