Browning butter gives it a nutty, rich flavor that adds something spectacular to this simple green bean side dish!

Ingredients

1
pound fresh green beans, trimmed
3
tablespoons butter
2
cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  • 1 Place the green beans in a large, deep skillet and add in 1/2” of water. Cover and heat over medium-high heat until the beans are just barely fork tender (do not overcook), about 7 minutes. Drain beans, and set aside.
  • 2 Return the skillet to medium-low heat. Add the butter into the skillet, and cook, stirring frequently, until the butter begins to tint brown, about 5 minutes. Add in the garlic, and cook until the garlic is just fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat, add in the cooked green beans, and toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
  • 3 Plate beans to a serving dish, then drizzle the rest of the butter from the skillet over top. Serve immediately.
