    Ingredients

    • 2/3 cup water
    • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
    • 2 envelopes plain gelatin
    • 3/4 cup vanilla vodka
    • 2 tbsp white chocolate liqueur (or white creme de cacao)
    • 3 tbsp peppermint schnapps (or to taste - up to 4 tbsp may be added)
    • 10 each small peppermint candies, or candy canes, crushed, for garnish (if desired)

    Directions

    1. 1Recommended pan: glass or non-reactive metal standard 1 lb loaf pan (approximately 8” x 4”)
    2. 2Pour water into a small saucepan. Sprinkle with the gelatin and allow to soak for a minute or two. Heat over very low heat, stirring constantly, until gelatin is dissolved (about 5 minutes). Stir in sweetened condensed milk. Remove from heat.
    3. 3Add the vodka, liqueur and schnapps, stirring well to incorporate. Pour into pan and refrigerate until fully set, several hours or overnight.
    4. 4To serve, cut into 1 inch squares.
    5. 5Immediately before serving, garnish with crushed peppermint candies, if desired.

Hi! You can certainly experiment and use different types of vodka and liqueur combinations. That sounds great!

Maybe it's the condensed milk that's affecting the consistency...?

I made these with only 1 pkg of gelatin and even though the flavor was pretty tasty, the consistency was still horrible.

I think the texture might be too stiff for some people. Perhaps adding only 1 1/2 packages of the gelatin might be the way to go? I'd rather throw away 1/2 pkg of gelatin than an entire batch of jello shots! Just a thought...I'll give it a try!

"Whipped" by Pinnacle is an excellent choice to use in place of the vanilla vodka. To make it even better, it's also very easy on your wallet!

I haven't made these nor have I tasted them but I was reading the comments below and many people were complaining about the flavor of the vanilla vodka. I can understand what the concern is and, as a bartender, I would recommend using "Whipped" by Pinnacle instead. It is a whipped cream flavor that does not taste like alcohol at all. I have used it in strawberry jell-o shots before and it was REALLY good!

I was initially impressed with the presentation of the Candy Cane Martini Jelly Shots. I emailed the recipe to a friend who ultimately made them for a family Christmas Party. I was not involved in the preparation of the treat, but did have an opportunity to sample one. The consistency was that of a hard boiled egg. My taste buds were a bit confused with the mint and vanilla flavoring and the hard boiled egg texture. I did not care for them and would not recommend them to anyone.

These were like chewing hard jello... you had to chew them very fast and swallow them nearly whole or the consistency would make you gag. Only a few got ate at my New years party. I was hoping they would have been a hit.

This looks great. Maybe it would taste better with flavored jello or something else sweet added or non-vodka vanilla.

Not as good as I had hoped. They were a little bland other than the taste of vanilla vodka which tasted much too much like alcohol. I think I might add the crushed peppermint into the mix if I try it again but probably wouldn't try to make these again. I think the 'martini' in the description should have tipped me off to the taste.
