Candy, cookie and cake all in one ooey-gooey treat! Best of all, it comes from brownie mix.

Ingredients

1
package Betty Crocker™ Supreme brownie mix
1/4
cup milk
1
teaspoon vanilla
1
egg
1/2
bag (14-ounce size) caramels (25)
1
can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease bottom only of rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches. Mix brownie mix (dry), milk, vanilla and egg with spoon (do not add chocolate syrup from pouch); reserve 1 cup. Press remaining brownie mixture in bottom of pan. Bake 10 minutes.
  • 2 Heat caramels and chocolate syrup from pouch in 2-quart saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until caramels are melted. Stir in milk. Pour over baked layer. Break up reserved brownie mixture; sprinkle over caramels.
  • 3 Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly around edges. Cool completely, about 1 hour, Refrigerate for easier cutting. For 24 bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store tightly covered and, if desired, in refrigerator.
Tips

Get the kids to help! They will have loads of fun mixing the batter and unwrapping those sweet delicious caramels. You'll appreciate the help, but be sure to keep those busy little fingers away from any hot surfaces.

A few bars left? Blend softened vanilla ice cream until smooth, and stir in those last few bars in for a delicious frozen caramel-fudge treat.
