Caramelized shallots add a sweetness to creamy hummus. Perfect for a party appetizer or easy snack.

Ingredients

(15 oz.) can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed

tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1
lemon, juiced
1
clove garlic

tbsp olive oil, divided
2
shallots, diced

Directions

  • 1 Combine the garbanzo beans, toasted sesame seeds, lemon juice, garlic and olive oil in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until smooth.
  • 2 Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet on medium-low. Add the chopped scallions. Cook until caramelized. Stir into the hummus, reserving 1 tbsp to sprinkle on top.
