A baked version of Bananas Foster. So easy and delicious!

Ingredients

4
medium bananas
2
tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1
tablespoon lemon juice
1/2
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8
teaspoon ground cloves
1/3
cup packed brown sugar

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350ºF; Cut peeled bananas crosswise in half; cut each half lengthwise in half. Place cut sides up in square baking dish, 9x9x2 inches.
  • 2 Mix butter, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves; brush on bananas. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake uncovered about 15 minutes or until bananas are hot.
Tips

For an indulgent treat without a lot of fat, serve with a scoop of fat-free vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.

This isn’t the place to use overripe bananas. Buy bananas that are firm enough to hold their shape in the oven but not so firm that they lack flavor.
