A delicious spread made with three types of tasty cheese with addition of cherries and almond.

Ingredients

package (8 oz) cream cheese, cubed
4
oz Havarti cheese, cubed
1
cup shredded smoky Swiss cheese (4 oz)
1/4
cup crumbled blue cheese (1 oz)
1/4
cup slivered almonds
3
tablespoons cherry-flavored liqueur or 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

teaspoon chopped shallot
1/4
cup dried cherries, chopped

Directions

  • 1 Let all cheeses stand at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to soften. Meanwhile, heat oven to 350°F. Spread almonds on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Cool.
  • 2 In food processor bowl with metal blade, place all cheeses, liqueur and shallot; process until smooth. Add cherries and almonds; process with on/off pulses until almonds are chopped. Spoon into crock or other container; cover. Refrigerate at least 24 hours to blend flavors.
  • 3 Let cheese spread stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving. Serve with thin slices of baguette-style French bread, assorted crackers, celery sticks or fresh pea pods.
Tips  

If you prefer, dried cranberries can be substituted for the dried cherries.
