    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped finely
    • 1/2 cup white onion, chopped finely
    • 1/2 cup flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
    • 2 (4 ounce) cans of mushrooms with juice
    • 3 cups chicken broth
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 5 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
    • salt and pepper to taste

    Directions

    1. 1Melt butter in a large saucepan. Add bell pepper and onion and sautee until soft.
    2. 2Add garlic and cook for a minute.
    3. 3Add flour to mixture and cook until bubbly.
    4. 4Add mushrooms with juice and chicken broth and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes or until thick.
    5. 5Reduce heat. Stir in chicken and cream and add salt and pepper to taste.
    6. 6Serve over toast, egg noodles, or Pilsbury Grand biscuits.
