Chicken Helper® mix brings Italian flavors to the dinner table in American short order.

Ingredients

1
package Chicken Helper™ Oven Favorites® Cheddar & mozzarella
2
tablespoons margarine or butter, cut up or softened
2 3/4
cups boiling water
1
pound boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1
cup (8 ounces) spaghetti sauce
1
cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 400°F for 13x9-inch glass, dark or nonstick pan (or 425°F for shiny metal pan). Stir uncooked Pasta, Sauce Mix, margarine and boiling water in pan until margarine is melted.
  • 2 Place chicken in pan. Tear off notched corner of Cheddar Cheese Sauce Topping pouch. Squeeze cheese sauce over each chicken breast. Sprinkle bread crumb Topping over cheese-topped chicken.
  • 3 Cover pan with aluminum foil. (If using metal pan, be careful when placing in oven--it will be hot.) Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until pasta is tender and juice of chicken is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut.
  • 4 Remove from oven; carefully remove foil. Stir pasta; pour spaghetti sauce over top. Sprinkle with cheese; return to oven 3 to 5 minutes or just until cheese is melted.
Tips

Mozzarella cheese comes in second to Cheddar in per-capita cheese consumption in the U.S. Believe it or not, every year more than $3 billion is spent on this favorite!

Use your leftover spaghetti sauce from dinner earlier in the week to top off this delicious Italian chicken bake.
