Dinner ready in just 20 minutes! Enjoy these Swiss cheese, asparagus and chicken sandwiches made with white bread.

Ingredients

cup margarine or butter, softened

slices white bread
1 1/2
cups cubed cooked chicken
2
oz. (1/2 cup) shredded Swiss cheese
1/4
cup chopped celery
1/3
cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1
(10 1/2-oz.) can cut asparagus spears, drained, or 2 cups cooked fresh asparagus

Directions

  • 1 Spread margarine on 1 side of each bread slice. In small bowl, combine chicken, cheese, celery and mayonnaise; mix well. Gently stir in asparagus.
  • 2 To assemble sandwiches, spread chicken mixture on unbuttered side of 5 bread slices. Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  • 3 Heat griddle or large skillet to 375°F. Cook sandwiches 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
Tips  

Try 2 cups od tender-cooked broccoli florets instead of the asparagus.

Serve the chicken salad cold on a bed of torn lettuce, with bread on the side.
