Dessert ready in 10 minutes! Fill bread with chocolate and cherry pie filling to make these delicious treats.

Ingredients

1
tablespoon margarine or butter, softened
2
slices bread
Campfire pie cooker
2
tablespoons cherry pie filling
2
teaspoons miniature chocolate chips

Directions

  • 1 Spread margarine on 1 side of each slice of bread. Place bread slice, margarine side down, in campfire pie cooker. Fill with pie filling and chocolate chips. Top with remaining slice of bread, margarine side up.
  • 2 Secure handle on pie cooker; if necessary, trim off excess bread. Cook over medium heat for 4 to 6 minutes or until bread is golden brown, turning once.
Tips  

DOUBLE BERRY TOASTED TREATS: Fill with 1 tablespoon raspberry preserves and 2 tablespoons blueberries or raspberries. PEPPERONI PIZZA TOASTED TREATS: Fill with 2 tablespoons pizza sauce, 4 slices pepperoni and 1 slice mozzarella cheese. ROAST BEEF ´N CHEDDAR TOASTED TREATS: Lightly spread plain side of 1 slice of bread with horseradish sauce. Top with 2 thin slices of cooked roast beef, 2 slices of onion, 1 slice of Cheddar cheese and other slice of bread.

Tote an extra loaf of bread to camp just for toaster treats. Experiment with ingredients you have on hand for other tasty combinations.
