Five ingredients are all you need to create these creepy-crawly but cute creatures.

Ingredients

roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated chocolate chip cookies
3/4
cup vanilla creamy ready-to-spread frosting (from 1-lb container)

drops green food color

pretzel sticks, broken in half
16
miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Shape teaspoons of dough into 36 (1-inch) balls; place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 2 Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
  • 3 In small bowl, mix frosting and food color until well blended. Spread about 1 rounded teaspoon frosting between 2 cookies. Add more frosting and cookies, using 18 cookies to make each caterpillar. Repeat with remaining cookies to make 2 caterpillars.
  • 4 Dip pretzel stick halves in frosting. Attach 4 sticks on each side of caterpillar to resemble legs and 2 sticks on top to resemble antennae. Spread frosting on 2 baking bits; attach to resemble eyes. Spread frosting on 6 baking bits; attach to resemble mouth. Add additional baking bits to resemble spots if desired. Repeat for second caterpillar.
Tips  

Use colored, waxed candy wrappers (available at kitchen specialty shops) for the decorative leaves.
