Dry
4.5 tsp Yeast
Warm
2 cups, divided Water
.5 cups Sugar
Bread
6-7 cups Flour
1 tsp Salt
.5 cups Oil
2 Eggs

Directions

  • 1 Make sure ALL the ingredients are warmed to room temperature.
  • 2 Combine yeast with .5 cups of the water and about 1 teaspoon of the sugar in a small bowl. Let the yeast activate for a few minutes. Meanwhile, combine the remaining sugar with 4 cups of the flour and the salt in a large bowl. Stir in the remaining 1.5 cups of water, oil, eggs, and yeast mixture. Stir until well combined. Add some of the remaining 2-3 cups of flour with a spoon until the dough is firm and not too sticky.
  • 3 Knead the now-made dough on a floured surface, adding flour as needed to prevent sticking, until the dough is smooth (about 8 to 10 minutes). At this point, the dough can be placed in a large oiled bowl, covered with a lid or plastic wrap, and placed in the refigerator overnight.
  • 4 The next day, remove the dough from the bowl, punch it down, and split into two halves. Now, take one half, split into three pieces (as equal as possible), roll those three pieces into
  • 5 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the loaves for 30-40 minutes, tenting them with foil if they brown too quickly.
  • 6 Serve warm.
