There's something perfectly wonderful about chocolate and coconut. Top it all off with a toasted almond, and you've got yourself decadent perfection.
These easy, homemade chocolates are surprisingly quick to toss together. They require no bake time whatsoever and can be whipped up in just minutes. Better yet, they taste about ten times better than the stuff you buy in stores. Sweet and creamy, and totally addictive.
If you're not used to candy making, have no fear! Here's a photo tutorial of each step.
For starters, mix together the coconut filling. It should be thick and sturdy, slightly sticky, but not overly so.
Form the coconut into squares. Just moisten your fingers a bit and press it into place, as you would clay or play-dough. Simple!
Melt your chocolate (use high quality chocolate for a nice, thin layer and crazy-good flavor), then dip your coconut squares one at a time.
Top the just-dipped square with a toasted almond, then allow it to cool on a piece of parchment.
Bite into that heavenly piece of perfection and pat yourself on the back! You did good!
