Hi @Anonymous! The recipe actually means to read 1 or 2 large Granny Smith apples. I've updated to avoid future confusion.

Question: I guess I'm not getting it but if there are 12 apples and they're to be cut into 8 wedges, that's 96 wedges of apples. How can you use up all 96 if there are only 16 crescent roll triangles??

I cheated and used 2 cans apple pie filling, 1 t. cinn. and followed rest of the recipe. I have used flakey biscuits divided and rolled my dumplins look like egg rolls. But very good.

Hi Anon - Changing the recipe to use sugar free ingredients should work just fine. Be sure to change proportions as you typically would for the stevia.

I was so excited to try this I went and purchased all the ingredients that I didn't already have. Sadly, I was disappointed. The flavor was good. I used half white and half brown sugar. The problem was the texture. It was so soggy. I don't know why the liquid didn't reduce, but the bottom of the dumplings were mush. Also, don't forget to peel the apple!

This was sooo good. I cut the recipe in half, and only used one can of crescent rolls. I melted a stick of butter in a saucer and added 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of white sugar (and some cinnamon). And poured that over the rolled up apples. You can use mountain dew - but I used sprite. Any citrus-y soda works reaaally well with the apples. I dont know what it does, but it just adds a great taste that people will be trying to figure out! ;-) I made sure to cover it with foil while it was baking, but the last 5-7 min, I took it off to let it brown. This is an OHH SOO GOOD TREAT! All it needs is ice cream!!

These are definitely very easy to make. I loved them! I just made them today, and I will most likely make them again for a social get- together one day. I used apple juice instead of mountain dew because we didn't have it:P Next time I'll have to try the mountain dew!

I made these with apple juice instead of Mountain Dew and they were quick, easy and delicious. As we don't drink Mt. Dew I will probably continue to make with juice.
