    Ingredients

    • 1  lb. smoked sausage links, cut in half crosswise
    • 1/4  cup flour
    • 1  teaspoon salt
    • 1/2  teaspoon pepper
    • 2 1/2  lb. beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
    • 3  medium onions, coarsely chopped (1 1/2 cups)
    • 3  garlic cloves, minced
    • 3/4  cup stuffed green olives, halved
    • 1/2  to 1 teaspoon thyme leaves
    • 2  (15 1/2-oz.) cans kidney beans, drained

    • 2  to 3 cups dry red wine

    Directions

    1. 1Brown sausages in 5-quart Dutch oven. Remove from pan with slotted spoon; set aside. Meanwhile, in large bowl or plastic bag combine flour, salt and pepper. Add beef stew meat; toss or shake to coat. Add beef, onions and garlic to Dutch oven; cook until beef is evenly browned and onions are tender.
    2. 2Heat oven to 350°F. In 5-quart deep earthenware casserole or ovenproof Dutch oven, combine sausages, beef mixture and remaining ingredients except wine. Add 2 cups wine. Cover; bake at 350°F. for 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally and adding more wine if necessary. Casserole may be uncovered during last 45 minutes to thicken cassoulet, if desired.

Beef in a cassoulet?? This is absolutely ridiculous. This is probably the worst cassoulet recipe ever! Do not even bother cooking it, buy a can instead
