Sweet 'n Spicy Cranberry-Jalapeño Cream Cheese Dip

As prepared by Girl Versus Dough,

When I dip you dip we dip!

You know what’s better than decking the halls, singing Christmas carols, drinking hot cocoa with mini marshmallows in it and watching “A Christmas Story” 100 times in a row during the holiday season?

Decking the halls, singing Christmas carols, drinking hot cocoa with mini marshmallows in it and watching “A Christmas Story” 100 times in a row, while snacking on this scrumdiddlyumptious Cranberry Jalapeño Cream Cheese Dip during the holiday season, that’s what.

Seriously, guys and gals, this dip is DA BOMB. And I don’t say “da bomb” about many things very often. It’s sweet, spicy, creamy and so stinkin’ easy to make. Oh, oh, OH – and it’s also festively colored! I kinda like that part the best.

ANYWAY, first you’ll want to pour a bag of cranberries and a stemmed, seeded and coarsely chopped jalapeno into a food processor. Whir it all together until it’s finely diced, then add some sugar, lime juice, cumin and salt and stir that up all nicely.

Just like this. Whoa.

Pour the mixture into a bowl and let it make merry in the fridge for a few hours so all the flavors meld together. Now’s a good time to start the “A Christmas Story” mega marathon.

Spread a couple packages of softened cream cheese into the bottom of your serving dish, then top it evenly with the cranberry-jalapeno mixture. Isn’t that just so beeoootiful? I CAN’T EVEN DEAL.

Place the dip back in the fridge for a couple more hours to set (I know. I KNOW. But you’re probably only about two percent through your marathon at this point).

Finally, it’s time for the eatin’! Serve this yummy dip with some salty crackers and get ready for a party in your mouth.

Lawdy. It’s a Christmas miracle.
