Treat your guests with these wonderful margaritas made using cranberry juice cocktail, tequila and lime juice– a delicious cold drink.

Ingredients

cup sugar
1
cup water
1
cup fresh lime juice
1 1/2
cups tequila
1/2
cup orange-flavored liqueur
1
bottle (64 oz) cranberry juice cocktail (8 cups)
Lime wedges
Coarse (kosher or sea) salt
Crushed ice
Additional lime wedges, if desired

Directions

  • 1 In 1-quart saucepan, heat sugar and water over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour into large heatproof pitcher. Cover; refrigerate 20 minutes.
  • 2 Add lime juice, tequila, liqueur and cranberry juice cocktail to sugar syrup in pitcher; mix well. Refrigerate until serving time.
  • 3 Rub rims of margarita or lowball glasses with lime wedges, then dip rims in salt. Fill glasses with crushed ice; pour margarita mixture over ice. Garnish with lime wedges.
Tips  

Other cocktail juices work well in this recipe too.
