    Ingredients

    • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk (nonfat, if possible)
    • 1 12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1 cup mini marshmallows

    Directions

    1. 1Use a paper towel to grease an 8x8x2-inch pan with butter -- all over the sides and bottom. Set aside.
    2. 2Combine the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips in a saucepan. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is completely melted. Once the mixture is smooth, remove the pan from the heat.
    3. 3Stir in the vanilla extract until completely combined. Add the marshmallows and stir just enough to envelope them in the fudge mixture -- but don't overstir, the marshmallows will melt in if you stir too long.
    4. 4Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and smooth the top slightly. Refrigerate to set, 1 1/2 hours or longer. Once set, cut into 1-inch squares and devour.

I made this recipe but I only had a jar of marshmallow creme. It turned out excellent! Next time I'll make sure to have a bag of marshmallows but the creme is a great variation. Thanks for the recipe! Every other one I found had evaporated milk.

Sue, sorry to hear that! I've never had that experience. When a recipes results turn out other than as expected, I always turn to my ingredients to be sure that I gave the recipe its best start. In this case, Sweetened Condensed Milk sits right next to Evaporated Milk at most grocery stores -- if you used the latter, then it could turn out bitter (since Evaporated Milk is NOT sweet). How was the chocolate you used? Was it semi-sweet? If you used a bittersweet or dark chocolate chip instead, than that would impact the taste as well. Have a great weekend.
