More About This Recipe

  • Lots of sauce, turkey sausage and noodles, cooked "slow easy".

This pasta recipe saved me last week (and will continue to) as we enter the busy weeks of the Christmas holiday.

My house has been packed to the brim with people. Like I am not joking – packed! I have a pretty big family. 7 siblings, 2 parents and yes, we are all one family. My parents are just semi-crazy and started having kids young.

Anyway, the house has been full with kids from the US Snowboard Team, random friends and workers from a renovation I am working on. It’s been pure craziness, and I have been feeding the masses night after night. It’s been a lot of work!

But then the other day, I got smart and decided to put my slow cooker to some good use. Oh my gosh, best decision ever. This pasta not only feeds a crowd, it’s a crowd pleaser. Meaning, it is so good!

It’s creamy, saucy and full of winter comfort. It’s pretty much the best kind of meal for this time of year – perfect for feeding all those Christmas guests.

So here is how you make it (I promise, it is so easy!).

    Gather your ingredients.

Brown the sausage on the stove.

Pour one jar of pasta sauce into the bottom of a slow cooker. Add the spaghetti noodles on top of the sauce, breaking them up if needed.

Pour the browned sausage over the noodles and sprinkle on the Parmesan cheese. Cut the cream cheese into bite-sized pieces and place on top of the Parmesan cheese.

Pour the remaining two jars of pasta sauce over the cream cheese. Add the red wine and water. Give everything a toss.

Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on high for three hours. Then remove the lid and stir the contents, replace the lid and cook another hour on low or until ready to serve.

    Serve it up and enjoy!
