Like a lot of cooks, you probably tweak recipes slightly to suit your family's tastes and diets. A little extra spice here... sub low-fat sour cream there...

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 12-cup fluted tube pan. In largebowl, blend cake ingredients until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highestspeed. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350°F. for 35 to 45 minutes oruntil toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
In small saucepan, heat butter, sugar, nutmeg and water until mixture boils and sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; add rum. Pour half of glaze around edges of hot cake. Cool upright in pan 5 minutes; invert onto serving plate.
Slowly spoon remaining glaze over top of cake. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
