Like a lot of cooks, you probably tweak recipes slightly to suit your family's tastes and diets. A little extra spice here... sub low-fat sour cream there...

Pour Chex into a large bowl.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter, peanut butter and chocolate chips on high for 45 seconds in the microwave. Stir, and continue heating in microwave until all is melted and stirs easily. When smooth pour over cereal and mix until coated.
Pour out onto 2 cookie sheets covered in wax paper. Sprinkle M & Ms over mix to make them stick. Refrigerate uncovered until set, about 20 minutes.
Break mix into bite sized pieces and put into 2 ziplock bags. Add powdered sugar and shake well to coat. Store in airtight containers.
