I use a Pillsbury strawberry cake mix, make a two layer cake and slice layers into and fill with strawberry pie filling.cover with butter frosting colored pink.then cover with pink fondant.

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9 inch baking pans. In large bowl, combine all cake ingredients; beat at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at high speed. Pour batter into greased and floured
Bake at 350°F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely.
In large bowl, beat butter and crisco until light and fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of the half-and-half, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and and extract, beating until of desired spreading consistency.
To assemble cake, cut cake into, forming two 41/2inch layers. Place 1 cake layer on serving plate; layer with pie filling repeat this process untill all four layers are covered with pie filling.pipe or spread pie small amount of frosting around top edge pie filling on cake. Top with second cake layer; repeat with frosting and pie filling. Top with Fondant and then decorate cake.
Knead a few drops of pink food color into fondant until of desired color. have decorations made ahead so you can finish decorating your cake.
Have all supplies ready before starting your cake. and decorations made ahead of time.
