Traditional julep ingredients are paired with summer-fresh blackberries and transformed into a refreshing frappe in this easy-fix recipe.

3
tablespoons blackberry-mint puree
2
tablespoons bourbon (1 oz)
1
tablespoon sugar
1
cup ice cubes
1
fresh mint sprig

Directions

  • 1 In blender, place blackberry-mint puree, bourbon, sugar and ice. Cover; blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into highball or lowball glass. Garnish with mint.
Tips

To make about 1 1/4 cups blackberry-mint puree, place 1 pint fresh or frozen (thawed) blackberries and 1/2 cup packed fresh mint leaves in a blender. Cover; blend on high speed until pureed. Strain to remove seeds. Store in refrigerator until ready to use.
