Betty Crocker's Heart Healthy Cookbook shares a recipe! Dinner ready in no time! Enjoy these mouth-watering trout flavored with garlic and herbs - broiled to perfection!

Ingredients

4
rainbow trout or other medium-firm fish fillets, 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick (about 1 pound)
2
tablespoons lime or lemon juice
2/3

1
teaspoons Italian seasoning
2
teaspoons canola or soybean oil
1/2
teaspoon garlic powder
1/4
teaspoon pepper

Directions

  • 1 Set oven control to broil. Spray broiler pan rack with cooking spray. Place fish on rack in broiler pan. Brush with lime juice. Broil with tops about 4 inches from heat 3 minutes.
  • 2 While fish is broiling, mix remaining ingredients.
  • 3 Spoon bread crumb mixture on top of fish. Broil about 1 minute longer or until fish flakes easily with fork.
Tips

“Garlic and Omega-3 oil in the trout make this recipe a good start for a healthy heart.” Wanda S.

Another way to get Omega-3! Because soybean oil contains Omega-3 fatty acids, which are very good fo your heart, the American Heart Association recommends substituting it frequently. Olive and canola oils, monounsaturated oils, are also very good choices when selecting a cooking oil.
