Garlic-Herb Parmesan Croutons

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves , minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried, chopped basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried, chopped oregano
  • 4 cups cubed day-old bread
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese to taste

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil, garlic, basil, oregano, salt and pepper until warm, about 2 minutes.

    Remove skillet from heat and add cubed bread, tossing to coat.

    Place croutons on a lipped baking sheet covered with a Silpat or parchment paper, and sprinkle on grated Parmesan cheese.

    Bake in the oven for about 20-30 minutes, or until croutons are a deep golden brown and crunchy. Serve warm on a yummy soup or salad.
