    Ingredients

    • 1 box Betty Crocker Spice Cake Mix
    • 3 whole eggs
    • 1 cup water
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1/3 cup water

    Directions

    1. 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 pan with baking spray with flour. Make cake according to package directions. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
    2. 2Add brown sugar, butter, and water to a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until all ingredients are melted.
    3. 3Poke the cake with a fork or toothpick and pour hot syrup all over cake. Let cool.
    4. 4Optional - Serve with whipped cream or ice cream and grate fresh nutmeg over top.

    What makes this ginger flavored? I'm going to try adding ground ginger to the cake mix and topping.
