  • 4 1/2  cups rolled oats
  • 2 1/2  cups toasted whole wheat flakes cereal
  • 1/2  cup nonfat instant dry milk
  • 1/3  cup coconut
  • 1/4  cup oil
  • 1/4  cup honey
  • 1/2  teaspoon almond extract
  • 1  (6-oz.) pkg. dried fruit bits

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 15x10x1-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In large bowl, combine oats, cereal, dry milk and coconut; mix well. In medium bowl, combine oil, honey and almond extract; beat well. Pour over oat mixture; stir to coat. Spoon mixture into sprayed pan, spreading evenly.

  3. Bake at 350°F. for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown, stirring frequently. (Cereal will still be soft but will become crisp upon cooling).

  4. Cool slightly; stir in fruit bits. Cool completely. Store in tightly covered container for up to 1 month; refrigerate for longer storage. Serve as cereal with skim milk or as a snack.
